Ellen is an EMMY, ADG and SDSA Award nominated Set Decorator. She won the SDSA Television Awards Best Achievement of Decor/Design in a Half-Hour Single Camera Series for the HBO Max series HACKS. Her work has been featured in Architectural Digest, The Wall Street Journal, Deadline, The L.A. Times, The Hollywood Reporter, Better Homes & Gardens, House Beautiful, Condé Nast Traveler, Effect Magazine, Country Living, Women’s Wear Daily, Aspire Design and Home, Flower Power Daily, Awards Radar, Awards Daily, ADG Perspective and Variety Magazine.  The Mischievous Case of Cordelia Bodkin, set in Victorian San Francisco, for which Ellen was the Set Decorator, won an award for Best Production Design.  Her educational background is in design management, industrial design, communications design, and marketing, with a Master’s Degree in Design from Pratt Institute and an Undergraduate Degree in Business from Hofstra University.  She is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and a Board Member of the Set Decorators Society of America (SDSA) where she has held the officer position of Secretary and Co-Chair of the SDSA Honors Awards Event.  Whether a television show, commercial, music video, or feature film, Ellen approaches each project with the same fever, professionalism, focus on detail, and desire to create designs that not only wow the eye, but further the storyline and draws in the audience. Understanding that great storytelling requires powerful design, Ellen has helped mold many entertainment projects into vivid, compelling, and thrilling journeys for audiences.

Ellen’s design background spans not only multiple facets of the entertainment industry in Los Angeles, but also that of a former career in commercial and residential interior design and project management in New York.  Having been directly responsible for managing teams for millions of dollars in furniture and design projects from a wide range of national corporate offices to healthcare facilities to restaurants to spas to residential condominiums to consulting on the design of healthcare furniture for a Steelcase subsidiary, Ellen brings decisiveness, attention to detail, and an ability to develop compelling designs and visions for every project, with an ever-conscious focus on meeting budgetary and timeline requirements.
